For more than 20 years, urologists have independently provided direct patient care in Haiti or conducted educational seminars to share their expertise with fellow Haitian colleagues. In general, these activities have operated separately without cross-coordination and thus have failed to achieve their full potential. The goal of the Joint Haitian American Urology Conference is to streamline these efforts in order to maximize the positive impact to urology training, practice and patient care in Haiti.
The 2nd Annual Joint Haitian American Urology Conference will occur on October 31 – November 1, 2014 at the Karibe Hotel in Pétion-Ville, Haiti. The two-day program offers a robust academic program on the first day including lectures from U.S. and Haitian urologists and a Haitian Resident Forum. The second day will focus on strategic discussions regarding urological education and training in Haiti including a roundtable discussion with Haitian government officials.
